Originally born in Panama City, Florida. Jonny George was raised in Austin and Dallas, Texas and then later to Salina, Kansas where he grew up along with his love for music. He attended and graduated from the University of Kansas followed by a masters in Education at Kansas State University. He now resides in Chattanooga with his wife Janet where he teaches high school history and economics.

When and why did you start playing guitar? In college. I love the sound of the instrument.
Which instruments do you play? Guitar, mandolin, piano, percussion.
What was the first tune(s) you learned? Bob Dylan's Blowin in the Wind.
Which famous musicians do you admire? Why? The Beatles. Their sound, songs, everything really.
Which famous musicians have you learned from? The Beatles, Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Dan Fogelberg.
What are your fondest musical memories? My brother and I playing a concert at Forum Hall and my son and I playing guitars and writing songs in the Great Room in our house.
Were you influenced by old records & tapes? Yes, every Beatle album.
